URBAN AMNESTY
The urban amnesty of the Government of Marga Prohens will allow "very serious" urban planning infractions to be legalized on rural land, according to lawyers on the island who are experts in the field, without landscape integration measures being mandatory. It will not be necessary to comply with the current or old urban planning parameters that would normally be required, as can be seen from Decree Law 3/2024, approved by the Balearic Government on May 24.
Neus Fontrodona, a lawyer at the Zaforteza law firm, warns that the extraordinary legalisation procedure will allow many types of urban planning infringements on rural land to be legalised, "some of them very serious, without the Decree-Law obliging owners or developers to adopt any type of landscape integration measure in relation to height and maximum volume, façade materials and finishes, type of roof, etc.
